TUMint.Energy Research GmbH
The TUMint.Energy Research GmbH was founded in 2019 under a joint initiative of the Technical University Munich (TUM) and the Bavarian State Ministry of Commerce, Regional Development and Energy (StMWi).
Its goal is to consolidate the university’s expertise in solid-state batteries in a new research institute on Garching’s Research campus by building new research infrastructure and to create a platform for future industrial projects in this field.
Our team consists of 20 scientists (mostly PhD students, but also post-docs and laboratory assistants), supervised by our participating professors. Our office, which supervises all project funds, supports these students with their research papers and acts simultaneously as a kind of one-stop-agency for our industrial partners.
TUMint.Energy Research is a subsidiary of TUM International GmbH (“The University Company”), which is a subsidiary of TUM itself. We fulfil the necessary requirements of a research organization within the Union framework for state aid for the promotion of research, development and innovation (FuEul-Union framework, Official journal of the European Union, 2014/C 198/01, Nr. 1.3. Rz. 15 ee.). Simply, we are privately funded only up to 20 % and therefore technically not considered a company in terms of European state aid law.
We want to continue to work on advancing scientific progress and innovation together with our industrial partners. In this spirit, a big thank you to all of our Network partners!
